What Additional Coverage does Medigap Provide?
A Medigap policy generally provides coverage to cover any gaps among Medicare Part A and Medicare Part B Plans. Some additional coverage provided includes:
- Coinsurance
- Deductibles
- Copayments
- Healthcare outside the U.S.

How does Medigap differ from Medicare Advantage?
While Medigap covers the gaps of Medicare Part A and Part B, Medicare Advantage Plans are considered Part C. They provide the coverage of both Part A and Part B.
Medigap cannot be used with a Medicare Advantage Plan, and it will not cover the same costs that it would for an Original Medicare Plan. This includes premiums, deductibles, and copayments.
Medicare Advantage and Medigap paired with Original Medicare provide different benefits. For example, Medicare Advantage Plans may provide additional coverage for dental and vision needs, while Medigap may not.
